The following is a short video of a Chi Washing Qigong moving meditation practise. In this exercise we gather and accumulate the Chi or universal life energy that flows through every living thing, from the air we breathe, to the plants, trees, rocks, seas and rivers, animals, humanity, the sun, the moon, the skies, the universe and everything that contains life. Drawing this energy into ourselves, over our physical body and the energy field around the body, with the breath, the gentle flowing movements and the intent. This energy bath can be used to cleanse and heal our physical, mental and emotional being. It's a very simple and effective exercise which is deeply calming and relaxing.
Before you begin make sure the feet are firmly planted on the ground. They will remain rooted to the earth throughout the exercise as though you have roots growing from the feet deep down into the earth.
Breath in as you scoop up the Chi energy and out as you tip it over your head, as you would if you were tipping water over your head while standing in the sea. Breath in as you move the Chi around the body to the back and out as you rotate the wrists and bring the arms forward again.
You can imagine standing in the sea on a warm sunny day or simply imagine yourself standing in a sea of endless golden Chi energy. This sea is sometimes known as the Ocean of endless light or the sea of endless love and it is an infinite unending sea of Chi energy that you can use to wash away your stress and problems, calming and soothing the mind, refilling and refreshing you if you are feeling tired or depleted.
When you step forward with one foot you once again root the feet to the ground and keep them there, shifting the weight, gently opening and closing the Kwa muscle between the legs to bring stability and flow to the movement of the body as you bring in the twist at the waist. The movement when you are doing it correctly brings internal and external spirals throughout the body in a flat figure of eight which is the shape of the infinity symbol. This brings the flow as the body moves as one co ordinated connected body.
Work both sides equally for as long as you want. Finish with three more movements facing the front. Gather the Chi into the dantien and hold your hands there for a moment as you store all the good Chi you have gathered.
